Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood Threatens To Unleash “Full Force Of The Law” On Danny Tommo

Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood has let Danny Tommo (real name Daniel Thomas) know that she’s on his radar in an interview with The Guardian this week.

Mahmood described anti-migration activist Tommo as “a far-right and outright racist” who will feel “the full force of the law” if his Patriot Platform group commits  crimes near contested asylum sites such as Piddington.

Tommo had said that said he will mobilise thousands of his followers to descend “for days” on to the Oxfordshire village to prevent male asylum seekers being moved in.

Crime & Justice

In an interview last Friday, Tommo said: “How powerful would it be if 5,000 men … surround the [Piddington] camp. We take tents. We sit there for days and we don’t let them [the asylum seekers] get in. And then we reinforce [the blockade] with members from the north, from Scotland, from Ireland.”

Mahmood has now fired a warning shot at Tommo as she also tried to reassure the people of Piddington about the asylum seekers who are scheduled to move into a neighbouring former military site.

War & Conflict

The Home Secretary says: “I understand the anxiety of local people when they’re about to see a change to their community. But it is important to distinguish that anxiety, where reasonable people can have a conversation, and the far right and outright racists like Danny Thomas walking into town, hijacking an issue and then using that to divide our communities.

“Their behaviour is completely unacceptable. And where they break the law, they will face the full force of the law.”

The people of Piddington registered their opposition to the proposed asylum facility this week, voting by 285 votes against 26 in a symbolic ballot to leave the UK and seek self-determination.

Tommo was in Piddington on the day of the vote meeting with locals and a parish councillor, and from the sounds of it, I’m guessing they like the idea of him turning up with 5,000 dudes in masks to stop the asylum seekers coming in. Then again, maybe they’re opposed to 5,000 sweaty blokes turning up in masks, blocking roads, intimidating people and doxxing emergency workers? We shouldn’t assume.

Controversial Social Issues

Either way, Danny Tommo has his warning that if he messes about and breaks the law, he will be arrested. So just like anyone else really, but Mahmood is just letting him know she’s got her eye on him in particular.

Danny also clarified in the interview last week: “Racism within our organisation is just not acceptable. That is the stance we have. We are not a white nationalist movement. I have friends that are black.”

You heard the man – he has friends that are black. Are any of them Muslims?
